A Month of Freedom and a Week of Roses

So this month was school holidays here in Brasil... which means sleep. And lots of it! Gosh it was blissful! I enjoyed my sleep immensely. That was until my lovely Australian friend Rose turned up for the weekend, which turned into a week. Of course, every rose has its thorns; but then again, they also have their perks.

Really, my holidays didn't get exciting until Rose turned up as I was always to lazy to get out of bed in the mornings... and if I ever did actually get past that stage of the morning, I wouldn't leave the house. Because that meant effort. I don't like effort.

Rose got to my house on the 5th and straight away we were doing shit. Dear lord. Really? Already?

On the 6th (a Saturday) we went to the Dane's despidida (going away party) and partied appropriately for someone who we will most likely never see again. It was a good night with good people.

Monday the 8th, Jake (New Zealand), Marco (Mexico), Signe (Denmark) and Rose and I (Australian) went to the Aquarium for the day... it was col they had.... aquatic stuff there.... as they usually do. Plus dinosaurs. And bats. And pirates. What.

Tuesday, the day after Monday (logically) we went to the park in Villa Lobos and hired out some bikes and rode around. I never realized how long it's been since I've ridden a bike. Seriously, I nearly killed myself. It was hard work. Afterward, we went to the shopping centre in Villa Lobos for lunch. Yeah, exciting.

On the weekend (13th - 14th) My Rotary councilor took Rose and I to Campos do Jordao in the mountains for the weekend. It was awesome. On the Saturday we left Sao Paulo at 5:30 am. Dear lord, a bit early; but hey, I can't complain. She took us to Tarundu adventure park as soon as we got there and paid for us to go horse riding and ice skating. It was awesome. And my gosh. Some of the boys there were damn hot. Delicious. Sunday she took us to the chocolate factory and I bought s bunch of chocolate.. supposedly for my family. Yeah, that didn't happen. Afterwards, we went into town and Rose and I went exploring for the rest of the day. Campos do Jordao is a beautiful city.

Nothing really happened in the week between. Oh, except for the State of Origin. Best. Game. Ever. Queensland has now won eight years in a row! And to top it off... there was a streaker. Look at his tan booty.

Turns out he was wearing Nike shoes... so, of course this happened:

Saturday the 20th, my host parents took me to the weekend fruit markets, it was cool. Everything was SO FRESH. It was amazing. And the watermelons were HUGE. Like legit. Afterward, we went to the Municipal Markets for lunch and had a look around. I will be going back there to get presents for people. It had everything. That night, my host parents too me to see the new Superman movie... but my host dad bought the tickets for the wrong time so the cinema person let us watch The Lone Ranger instead. Funniest movie ever. I liked it.

Well, that was July. Isn't it awesome? Egh, school starts again on Wednesday. Can't tell if excited or annoyed....
